Download Facebook Reels as MP4 (iPhone, Android, PC)
Facebook Reels are short vertical videos, and many are worth keeping: a recipe, a workout, a repair tip. Facebook does not always offer a button to save them to your phone. With the Reel's link you can save it as MP4 without installing an app.
What is possible
SeeSaveIt downloads public Facebook Reels and videos. If a Reel comes from a private account, a closed group or a post shared only with some friends, the tool cannot reach it, and that is expected. Stories are not supported.
Step 1: copy the Reel link
- In the Facebook app: tap Share (the arrow) under the Reel, then Copy link.
- On a computer: open the Reel and copy the address from the browser bar. It often contains
/reel/followed by a number. - Short link: an
fb.watch/...link usually works. If not, read short links: do they work?.
Step 2: paste the link into the tool
- Open the Facebook downloader.
- Paste the link in the box.
- Press the download button and wait a few seconds.
- Choose MP4 for the video, or MP3 if you only want the sound.
HD is free when the original video has it. The guide on Facebook videos in HD explains what decides the quality.
Step 3: find the file
On iPhone, the file goes to the Files app (Downloads folder) and you can add it to Photos. On Android it is in your Downloads folder. On a computer it is in your browser's download folder. More details in where to find a downloaded video.
Reel or regular video: any difference?
For you, none: the method is the same. A Reel is simply a short vertical video. A regular Facebook video can be longer and horizontal. In both cases you need a link to a public post.
Turn a Reel into MP3
If you only want the audio (an interview, an explanation), choose MP3, saved at 192 kbit/s. You can also follow the guide on Facebook video as MP3 or use the video to MP3 converter.
If the download fails
- The link is a profile or page, not the Reel itself: open the post and copy its address.
- The Reel is private or deleted: read private or deleted video.
- The link was cut off by a messaging app: copy it again to the end.
- The Reel is limited to some countries or some followers: it will not be reachable.

Tips for a good result
- Use a stable connection. A Wi-Fi drop in the middle of a download can leave an incomplete file. If the video stops early, download it again.
- Check the link first. Open it in a private browser window: if the Reel plays without signing in, it is public and the tool can read it.
- Pick the right format. MP4 keeps image and sound; MP3 keeps only the sound and gives a much smaller file.
- Rename the file once saved, so you can find it later among your downloads.
Good to know before saving
A Reel belongs to its creator. You can save a copy for personal use, for example to watch it offline, but you must not repost it as your own or use protected music in another video without permission. If you share the content, credit the author. This is not legal advice: when in doubt, ask the creator.
SeeSaveIt needs no password and never asks you to sign in to Facebook. If a site asks for that, close the page.
