Download a TikTok Video on PC or Mac (No Software)
On a computer, many people assume they need to install a program to save a TikTok video. You do not: any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) is enough. Here is the full method for Windows and Mac.
What you need
- An up-to-date browser on Windows or Mac.
- The link to a public TikTok video.
- A few seconds of internet connection. No sign-up and no extension.
Step 1: get the video link
Open the video on tiktok.com. There are two ways to copy its address:
- From the address bar: click it, select the whole link, then press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac).
- From the Share button: under the video, click the share arrow and choose "Copy link".
Both work. If you want to understand the different kinds of links, read how to copy a video link.
Step 2: paste the link into SeeSaveIt
Go to the TikTok video downloader, click the input field and paste the link with Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac). Then press the download button.
Step 3: pick the format
Once the video is recognized, you can choose:
- MP4 to keep picture and sound, in HD when it exists. HD is free.
- MP3 to keep only the audio, for example to listen to a sound on its own. Use the video to MP3 converter or read convert TikTok to MP3.
If you are unsure, which video quality to pick: HD, MP4 or MP3 helps you decide.
Where to find the file on your computer
By default, the browser puts the file in the Downloads folder.
- Windows: open File Explorer, then "Downloads" in the left column. In Chrome or Edge you can also press Ctrl + J to see recent files.
- Mac: open Finder, then "Downloads". In Safari, the arrow icon at the top right of the window opens the list.
If your browser is set to ask where to save, the window that appears decides the location.
A note for Safari on Mac
Safari may ask you to confirm the download the first time. Choose "Allow" for seesaveit.com only if you started the download yourself. You can then find the file with the arrow icon in the toolbar.
If the video does not play
MP4 opens in most players. On Windows, the Films & TV app or VLC work. On a Mac, QuickTime is fine. If you see the picture but hear nothing, check the player volume first, then read downloaded video has no sound.
Tip for several videos
Keep the tool's tab open and paste the links one after the other. You avoid reloading the page each time, and every file lands in the same Downloads folder.
Why the moving logo is gone
When you download from the post's link, you usually get the video without the TikTok logo that moves around the frame. The details are in remove the TikTok watermark.
What if it fails?
The most common causes are simple:
- The video is private, deleted or limited to friends: the tool cannot see it.
- The link is incomplete: copy it again in full.
- The connection dropped while the file was being prepared: reload the page and try again.
