A TikTok slideshow, also called photo mode or a carousel, is a post made of several images with music. Many people want to download it, but it is not the same thing as a regular video. Here is what to know before you paste a link.
Video or slideshow: the difference
A TikTok video is a single file you can save as MP4. A slideshow is a set of photos the app plays with a sound. If you want the sound of a slideshow
The music of a post can often be saved as audio. Try the link on the TikTok MP3 page: if the post has an accessible audio track, you can choose MP3. The result depends on the post.
To keep the images themselves
- TikTok's Save option: some creators allow saving. When they do, the app offers to save the images from the share menu.
- Screenshot: as a last resort, take a screenshot of each image. Quality is a little lower, but it works everywhere.
- Ask the creator: if you really want the photos, message them. It is also the right way to ask permission to reuse them.
Respect creators' rights
